The Champions League continues on Wednesday, and here at TurtleBet UK we are taking a closer look at the match between Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen.

Ten matches, 9 wins and one draw. Spurs were on fire at the start of the season, but after the middle of October their form has slightly wavered. After their opening 10 games Spurs have now gone five games without a win, and they've only scored three goals in that period. The last time they managed to score multiple goals in a match was in the fantastic 2-0 win over title rivals Manchester City.

The numbers show that Spurs are missing the injured Harry Kane quite a bit. Son Heung-Min, who first looked a like a fine deputy, has struggled slightly over the last couple of weeks. The lack of crucial goals has shown, but luckily for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino announced that there's a 50% chance that Kane would make a return against Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen are struggling with problems of their own. Two consecutive Bundesliga defeats and the disastrous Cup exit at the hands of third-division side Lotte have made reports surface of the sacking of manager Roger Schmidt. The pain looked likely to continue last weekend, but two late goals gave Leverkusen and Schmidt some breathing space as they ran out 1-2 winners at Wolfsburg.

Despite that victory, the fact remains that after their Cup exit and poor league performances 'Kusen are going to put all their eggs in one basket - the Champions League. So far the Germans have played well in Europe, but there is still room for improvement. You could say that Leverkusen should have won all of their matches, but going into the fourth round of fixtures they can boast a record of only three draws.

Leverkusen gave Spurs such a run for their money in Germany that they almost missed their flight back home. The Germans had more than enough chances to put the game to bed, but their ineptitude in front of goal eventually led to a draw. Meanwhile, in their other two UCL-matches Schmidt's men have lost clear leads against both Monaco and CSKA Moscow.

Bayer have been strong at home, but away from Germany they have struggled. 24 UCL -away matches have brought only two victories. They have lost seven out of their last eight games on English soil. Although Spurs' last home defeat came in the Champions League opener against Monaco, it doesn't look like Leverkusen have what it takes to surprise Pochettino and his men come Wednesday.

On the other hand, Spurs haven't been exactly convincing in recent weeks, so betting on a draw doesn't seem ludicrous - especially with Kane not at 100%. Another option is to choose Tottenham - draw no bet with a small wager.

Tottenham lost to Liverpool 2-1 in the EFL Cup, as both teams - especially Spurs - fielded weakened lineups. Otherwise Spurs' matches have featured consistently under 2,5 goals since the end of September, and more of the same will most likely be on the cards.

Spurs won't have forgotten their defensive mishaps in the UCL-opener against Monaco, and they will have seen just how dangerous Leverkusen can be in Germany. Spurs' own issues in front of goal probably won't be solved instantly, and their defence will be key in getting a result. On the other hand, Leverkusen have also struggled recently.

Goals total - under 2,5 : 51/50 (Unibet / LeoVegas)

Both teams won't score: 5/4 (Fastbet / Bethard)
