20:00 Stoke - Tottenham

The Premier League's runaway leaders Leicester were held to a 2-2 draw at home against West Ham, as the difference to Spurs grew up to 8 points. Therefore, Spurs have a great chance to close the gap as they face 9th placed Stoke at the Britannia Stadium tonight. However, picking up all three points will be easier said than done: there's a reason people keep talking about wet and cold midweek nights at Stoke.

Despite their home ground's cult status, it's clear that Stoke are massive underdogs in tonight's fixture. The Potters have lately suffered a lot of injuries to their key players and their form has been flaky. Although offensively they've managed to find the net in eight consecutive matches, defensively Mark Hughes' men have been leaking goals left right and center. Their unconvincing defending has meant that they've only picked up one win in their last five games. Last time out in the Premier League they were on the receiving end of a 4-1 at Liverpool.

Spurs on the other hand have been flying - especially in the league, as their last Premier League defeat dates as far back as the 2. of March when they lost to West Ham. In terms of form on the road the men from White Hart Lane have only been defeated once in their last fifteen away matches. Although Dortmund brought their Europa League journey to a humiliating end, Spurs' domestic form has been impressively consistent. Last weekend they defeated Manchester United 3-0 at home with a convincing display.

Stoke come into tonight's match without their England international keeper Jack Butland. Defenders Glen Johnson and Marc Wilson along with striker Jonathan Walters are also injury absentees. Eric Pieters' suspension means that defensively the Potters could be in for a difficult night. Luckily for Stoke their top scorer Marko Arnautovic has made a return to training recently, although he is by no means at 100% match fitness. Spurs' title hopes mean they'll be super-motivated, and in addition to that they have a fully fit squad to choose a starting eleven from. Only bit-part players Nabil Bentaleb and Clinton N'jie remain on Tottenham's injury-list. Therefore, it's not exactly looking rosy for the men from the Britannia.

The thing to notice about Tottenham is that they've scored the most and conceded the least in the whole division. However, on their day Stoke are a real force to be reckoned with, especially offensively. With both sides seemingly scoring at will, it could be a real treat for the neutral this Monday night. Spurs remain clear favourites for the win, but it wouldn't be a surprise if both team's got on the score-sheet tonight.

Tottenham's last five matches:
10.4.2016 Tottenham – Manchester United 3-0
2.4.2016 Liverpool – Tottenham 1-1
20.3.2016 Tottenham – Bournemouth 3-0

13.3.2016 Aston Villa – Tottenham 0-2

Betting Tips:

Neither team is interested in a draw. Spurs will be especially keen to out-score their rivals on the night, as they have a chance to catch up on Leicester after they dropped points on Sunday. With both teams searching for the win goals can be expected, meaning that over-bets are the order of the day for us.
