Our midweek tips had a nice success rate of 5/6. The next round of games is already upon us, and we highlight Saturday's two hottest matches. The lunchtime kick-off features a crucial match in the battle of the Champions League places, while 3pm's main match sees relegation-threatened Newcastle make a trip to Anfield, where Liverpool are looking to grab a place in next season's European competitions.

12:45 Manchester City - Stoke

Manchester City have been defeated only once in their last ten matches. However, that defeat had added importance as it was in the derby against rivals Manchester United, who stole the points from the Etihad Stadium with a 0-1 victory. After that defeat, City's form has picked up. The Blues managed to beat PSG to a spot in the Champions League semi-finals, and last weekend's 3-0 mauling of Chelsea will have boosted City's confidence ahead of the final few games of the season.

City were held to a 1-1 draw at Newcastle on Tuesday, but the league table is still quite comfortable reading for them. Manuel Pellegrini's men still have Arsenal to play at the Etihad on the 8th of May, so a TOP3-spot is still very much in their own hands, even if Arsenal managed to leapfrog them on Thursday.

Stoke have virtually nothing but pride to play for in the remainder of the season. The Potters have confirmed their Premier League status with time to spare, while European football is already out of sight. In Monday's match they were on the receiving end of a 0-4 hammering from Tottenham at their Britannia Stadium.

Stoke have been somewhat of a bogey team for Manchester City in recent years. Their previous meeting this season finished in a 2-0 victory for the Potters. They also managed to grab a 0-1 win at the Etihad in last season's corresponding fixture, so their memories from the blue side of Manchester are pretty good.

Stoke come into the match completely free of pressure, but their form has been rather patchy in recent weeks, as they've condeded 13 goals in their last five matches. Meanwhile, City have looked revitalized since the return of Kevin de Bruyne from injury. With Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany also finally fit, Manuel Pellegrini finally has a large roster which he can rotate ahead of the upcoming UCL semi-finals against Real Madrid.

While the hosts are almost injury-free, the visitors situation couldn't be more different. Xherdan Shaqiri is the most recent high-profile injury absentee, while Jack Butland, Jonathan Walters, Glen Johnson and Marc Wilson are also injured and will sit out the match along with the suspended Erik Pieters.

Even if Pellegrini decides to rotate his starting eleven, City are still the clear favourites to pick up all three points. Star names coming off the bench will also have a big impact in the latter stages of the match, dying to cement their place in the starting line-up before the clashes with Madrid. City need the points far more than their rivals on the day, meaning a clear victory for the hosts is on the cards.

15:00 Liverpool - Newcastle

Saturday's other big match is contested between Liverpool and Newcastle. The visiting team are putting up a good fight against relegation, showcased by their midweek draw against Manchester City. The Magpies are currently two points behind Norwich and a point behind Sunderland. The Black Cats also have a game in hand on their rivals, meaning Newcastle simply must pick up some wins or get ready for a season in the Championship.

Their task will be made tough by a Liverpool side who have been in top form this Spring. First they knocked a strong Dortmund side out of the Europa League, which was followed by a 1-2 away win at Bournemouth and the 4-0 derby-day drubbing of Everton. 'Pool have a game n hand on most of their rivals, meaning even Champions League qualification could still be in the question if their good form continues. Admittedly, 4th-placed Manchester City are seven points ahead, but the Reds' run-in doesn't look very difficult. After Newcastle, they face Swansea, Watford, Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion.

Liverpool are in the middle of an extremely tough schedule, as this will be their sixth match in the space of just sixteen days. Their recent amazing performances have done a lot to boost confidence at Anfield. Newcastle managed to grab a 2-0 victory at St. James' Park in the previous meeting between the sides this season. However, Anfield has been an fortress that the Magpies haven't managed to penetrate in recent history, as their previous away win at the ground dates as far back as 1994!

Although Newcastle are putting up a good fight for their Premier League status, they've only managed to pick up eight points in their last ten matches. They've also been plagued by injuries recently. Liverpool on the other hand have hit a purple patch. The Reds are on a four-game winning streak, scoring an astounding 18 goals in the process.

The hosts are clear favourites at Anfield. The amount of goals in the game could skyrocket, and a victory for Jurgen Klopp's men with a few goals to spare is a bold addition to Mr. Turtle's betting plans for the weekend.
