Yesterday was a good day's work here at TurtleBet, as both the Ivory Coast -1,5 and HT/FT Ivory Coast/Ivory coast fattened our reader's accounts. Tonight we're looking for more of the same with the second semi-final clash!

5.2. Africa Cup of Nations Betting Preview:

Ghana - Equatorial Guinea

The hosts Equatorial Guinea made it through the quarter-finals amid controversial circumstances. 1-0 down to Tunisia, they got a real gift from the referee in the form of a penalty, equalised, and triumphed in extra-time to book their place in the semi-finals. The referee's performance came under intense scrutiny after he awarded the Guinean's 41 free-kicks compared to Tunisia's 12, plus the penalty that never should have been.

At least the African FA recognized what had happened and slapped a 6-month ban on referee Rajindraparsadin Seechurn quoting a "bad performance" as the reason for the ban. This will hopefully mean a fair contest tonight.

If and when the team's take to a fair field of play, there is no question on who the favourites are. Ghana are one of the continent's dominant footballing sides, and in four games they've managed to limit the shots their goal has faced to an incredible six! Ghana's group was perhaps the toughest of the competition, so three wins out of for can be considered a good return. In the quarter-finals Guinea (not Equatorial) had no chance and lost 3-0.

The Equatorial Guinean's have also been in decent form, but that has been perhaps slightly due to their easy fixtures. Although the host's have only conceded twice all tournament, they've faced the second most shots in the competition, and tonight those shots will have a bit more quality behind them than before.

The better organised Ghanaian's are the clear favourites to progress and we're counting on a fair referee for tonight's clash thanks to a quick response from the African FA.

With a small risk we're also adding a handicap to our bets, because if the Ghanaian's manage to get an early goal, the Guinean's will be forced to attack and will be vulnerable on the counter.
