Sunday's schedule for Euro 2016 also serves three games - just like on Saturday. Our eye is firmly set on the evening fixture, where World Cup holders Germany face Ukraine.

Turkey and Croatia kick-off the other "group of death" of Euro 2016, as the two other sides in the group are Spain and the Czech Republic. Spain are naturally firm favourites to take first place, but the difference in quality between the three other teams  is only slight, meaning that on their day anyone can beat anyone. A good performance against Spain could also be enough to cause an upset. This makes the group extremely interesting, but also very unpredictable.

Croatia are the bookies' firm favourites on Sunday, but Turkey will be anything but a push-over. They've only lost once in a bit over a year and a half, and they've beaten strong sides like Holland, Sweden, The Czech Republic and Austria in the process. In their final friendlies before the Euros they played a strong game against England, although they lost that game 2-1. In addition they beat both Montenegro and Slovenia 1-0.

Croatia have also been in relatively good form, as in the same period as Turkey they've only lost twice. Their final friendly opponents before the Euros were peculiar choices, as games against the likes of Moldova (1-0) and San Marino (10-0) aren't ideal preparation for a tournament with much tougher oppositions. Despite this, Croatia have the advantage before kick-off, albeit a slim one.

The two countries have faced each other five times in the last twenty years, of which Croatia have won two. Three draws have been also been played, one of which Turkey edged after a penalty shoot-out.

Turkey's friendlies before the Euros:

5.6.2016 Slovenia - Turkey 0-1

29.5.2016 Turkey - Montenegro 1-0

22.5.2016 England - Turkey 2-1

Croatia's friendlies before the Euros:

4.6.2016 Croatia - San Marino 10-0

27.5.2016 Croatia - Moldova 1-0

The game will be a tightly contested affair. Croatia are favourites, but only just. With a handicap Turkey are an interesting option.

Northern Ireland can easily be considered the walkovers of their group, especially on paper. However, by taking a look at Northern Ireland's fixtures you can see that they haven't suffered a defeat in 12 matches. The last time they lost was in March 2015 against Scotland, so they definitely have it in them to grab at least draws against tougher oppositions. Their inner strength is the main reason they managed to reach the finals.

Poland prepared for the Euros with two friendlies at the start of June, but a loss to Holland and a 0-0 draw with Lithuania was anything but the perfect dress rehearsal they'd hoped for. Poland are "second favourites" to reach the knockout-stages, but recent performances haven't been good enough. The squad is in desperate need of a lift, as even Northern Ireland have a chance to surprise them if they manage to defend well and do damage with their counter-attacks. By the way, the two sides faced each other twice in 2009 for the World Cup qualifiers, when Northern Ireland managed to win 3-2 and scrape a 1-1 draw away. Poland have come a long way since those dark days, but this will be anything but a walk in the park. Northern Ireland have a stern defence, proven by the fact that the last time it was breached more than once in a match was more than a year and a half ago!

Poland's friendlies before the Euros:

6.6.2016 Poland - Lithuania 0-0

1.6.2016 Poland - The Netherlands 1-2

Northern Ireland's friendlies before the Euros:

4.6.2016 Slovakia - Northern Ireland 0-0

27.5.2016 Northern Ireland - Belarus 3-0

Northern Ireland have a strong defence, but Poland's strength going forward is a class or two above. The odds for the favourites to win are more than playable!

The friendlies after the qualifiers didn't go to plan for Germany, as they immediately suffered defeats to both England and France. At the end of May they also got shocked 1-3 at home by Slovakia, and that tired performance had the media furious right on the eve of the tournament. In their final friendly they did manage to beat Hungary 2-0, but recent performances have raised a lot of question marks in Germany.

Meanwhile, Ukraine have lost only twice in their last 18 matches, and both of those defeats were 1-0 against a strong Spanish team. Although their other opponents during that period weren't on the same level as Germany, you can say that the Ukrainians have been performing on a decent level for some time.

A machine at major tournaments, Germany have shown that they before best on the biggest stages on many an occasion. However, Ukraine will be a tough opponent in their opening fixture. The teams have faced each other three times since the turn of the century, with two of the games finishing as draws and one as a win for Germany.

Germany's friendlies before the Euros:

4.6.2016 Germany - Hungary 2-0

29.5.2016 Germany - Slovakia 1-3

Ukraine's friendlies before the Euros:

3.6.2016 Albania - Ukraine 1-3

29.5.2016 Romania - Ukraine 3-4

Although Germany have been inconsistent in their friendlies, this is a major tournament and everybody knows what they're capable of. Germany's odds are rising fast among the bookies - place your bets on a clear win for Germany fast!
