There's a real super-match on Saturday, as two of the most convincing teams at the Euros, Italy and Germany come up against each other. This promises to be a match featuring two very organized defences and two legendary goalkeepers. Can their possibly be any goals in a match featuring Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Buffon?

2.7. 20:00 GERMANY - ITALY

This is a fantastic match-up. Yet to concede in the tournament, this will be Germany's first real test, as they face the best defensive side in the tournament in Italy. Italy have only conceded once, and even that goal came in the match against Ireland were they fielded a second-string starting eleven as they had already made sure of top spot in their group. With their best starting lineup on the field they've beaten both Spain and Belgium - and they with more than clinical performances. Those two games have made Italy one of the favourites for the title before the quarter-finals.

Germany's impressive start is also worth mentioning. Defensively they haven't had much work, as they've dominated all of their matches with ease and have been able to focus almost solely on their attack. Even against Italy Germany will control possession, as it's such a crucial part of their game plan, which is the complete opposite of Italy. But as Italy's previous matches have shown, possession counts for little. In their round of 16 game Spain had 59% of possession and won the shots on goal stat 13-11, but Italy ended up winning the match comfortably 2-0. Sure, Buffon had a couple of world class saves to make, but as a whole the Italians defended admirably.

Another one of Italy's strengths are their lightning fast counter-attacks. Italy can turn the game in the blink of an eye, with their fast moving of the ball and skillful play often leading to dangerous goal-scoring chances, like the many they had against Spain. The Spaniards aren't on Germany's level defensively, but if there's one team who can stop the German machine it's Italy.

All in all this promises to be the most tightly contested affair in the quarter-finals. We will most likely see Germany a lot on the ball, with players like Toni Kroos and Mesut Özil attempting to unlock the tight Italian defence. On the other hand it will be interesting to see how Germany can cope with the Italians' fast counter-attacks. With two of the best goalkeepers in the world on show there are also likely to be a couple of game-savers in the match.

A quick first goal could see the game open up a bit, but if you look at the two sides' results so far at the Euros you can see that a lot of goals aren't to be expected. Only one of Germany's first four matches has seen more than one goal scored, and in Italy's games the maximum goal total has been two. With two solid defenses like these the goal total is likely to be small and the game close.

Germany at Euro 2016:

26.6. Germany - Slovakia 3-0

21.6. Northern Ireland - Germany 0-1

16.6.2016 Germany - Poland 0-0

12.6. Germany - Ukraine 2-0

Italy at Euro 2016:

27.6. Italy - Spain 2-0

22.6. Italy - Ireland 0-1

17.6. Italy - Sweden 1-0

13.6. Belgium - Italy 0-2

All of the bookies have underestimated Italy through the tournament and we've made a lot of money on them so far at the Euros. Once again the Azzuri are the underdogs in the bookies' books. We don't completely agree with this, as we think this will be a far more tightly contested affair. Italy's odds should once again be taken advantage of. In terms of goals anything over 2.5 is rather unlikely, which in turn raises the likelihood of a draw. All in all unders, an Italian success with a bit of help from a handicap and a draw are all fantastic ideas for betting.
